CUMBERLAND, MD — The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad was featured on NBC’s Today Show during their “Lights, Camera, Travel! Holiday Film Vacations” on December 14th. The segment discusses the popular Polar Express train ride and fundraiser the Western Maryland features yearly. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride is the largest annual fundraising event for 2022 at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad (WMSR). The nonprofit’s Christmas train has become a holiday tradition drawing over 26,000 passengers in 2021! Western Maryland Scenic considers this year extraordinary and wants to ensure that this Allegany County holiday tradition continues, with journeys from both Cumberland & Frostburg to the North Pole.
