Upcoming Excursions
Beginning November 2nd, all Western Maryland Scenic Railroad excursions will be diesel-powered while steam locomotive No. 1309 undergoes her federally mandated fifth annual inspection. This comprehensive process includes inspection of the locomotive’s flexible staybolts and caps, along with other required examinations and maintenance.
WMSR will resume advertising and offering steam-powered excursions only after No. 1309 has been fully reassembled, successfully completed all required inspections and testing, and been cleared to return to service. We appreciate your patience and continued support as our team completes this essential work.
