Western Maryland Railway Station

The home of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad was built in 1913 by the Western Maryland Railway and used by the railroad even after its absorption into the Chessie System. Today, the station has been restored to its original grandeur and houses the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s offices, gift shop, and ticketing office alongside a coffee shop and other retail. The Western Maryland Railway Station is in the heart of Cumberland, and within walking distance of the recently renovated Historic City Center.

Book your trip on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad today and depart from the historic Western Maryland Railway Station in Cumberland for your journey to our Frostburg Depot.

Where To Park in Cumberland

Directly in front of the train station, Canal Place operates a gated lot that costs $1.00 per hour.  The lot only accepts debit or credit cards from Mastercard or Visa.

The City of Cumberland operates several parking garages and lots.  Street parking is paid Monday through Friday until 4:00 PM, evenings and weekends are free.  Here are some map links to take you to areas where to park downtown.

Western Maryland Frostburg Station

At the other end of the line sits the historic Frostburg, Maryland depot. Our Frostburg depot was built in 1891 for the Cumberland & Pennsylvania Railroad, which connected the town to the much larger Baltimore & Ohio Railroad.

Today the depot serves as Western Maryland Scenic’s western terminus. Riders can disembark here and explore Frostburg and all of the small businesses and restaurants Frostburg has to offer!

Parking is accommodated at the depot.
