The Frostburg Flyer

All aboard for a breathtaking journey on the rails!

The Frostburg Flyer departs from Cumberland, Maryland, taking you on a scenic journey through the stunning Allegheny Mountains to Frostburg. Along the way, you’ll cross creeks, streams, and bridges, pass through a 916-foot tunnel, and enjoy panoramic views of the mountains. Upon arrival in Frostburg, you’ll have 90 minutes to explore local shops and restaurants.

Coach Class offers a comfortable indoor space with heating and air conditioning, while the Open Air Car provides a fresh-air experience with unobstructed views and the full sights, sounds, and smells of mountain railroading. A concession car is available for your convenience.

For groups of four or more, our Lunch Classes offer the perfect setting, complete with table seating, service from a private attendant, and full bar service. Your ticket includes a private attendant, a full bar (with adult beverages available for purchase), complimentary soft drinks, a champagne toast, and a delicious sandwich with an extensive food menu.

For those 21 and older, Lounge Class offers a luxurious way to experience Mountain Maryland, with leather seating and sweeping scenic views. Lounge Class amenities include a champagne toast upon boarding, full-service cash bars, and a buffet of complimentary appetizers. Fly high above the mountain landscap in the Mountain Vista Dome Car and enjoy 180-degree views as we climb the mountain to Frostburg.

Seating on the Frostburg Flyer is assigned, so we recommend booking in advance to ensure your entire party is seated together. Boarding begins approximately 30 minutes prior to departure. The trip lasts 4.5 hours, including a 90-minute layover in Frostburg.
